CSINIBABA TÁNCDALFESZTIVÁL 2026 – THE YEARS OF THE DEMOCRATIC TRANSITION
After three nearly sold-out evenings, the Csinibaba Táncdalfesztivál returns to the stage of Budapest Park on May 28, 2026 — this time taking us on a vibrant journey from the 1980s to the mid-1990s.
The years surrounding the political transition were an exciting and liberating era of innovation: disco gave way to synth-pop, punk and alternative rock, electronic music burst onto the scene, and everything seemed to revolve around the taste of newfound freedom. This colourful and dynamic world comes to life both visually and musically, brought to the stage by actors from the Katona József Theatre and singers who are frequent performers at Budapest Park, all accompanied by a full live orchestra.
Futuristic, slightly sci-fi-inspired stage design, refreshed arrangements, plenty of surprises and a mix of familiar and new performers await the audience for a night where standing still simply won’t be an option.
The show is once again directed by Vilmos Vajdai, while the musical accompaniment is provided by the Nart Orchestra Big Band, led by Ádám Meggyes and expanded with brass and string sections. Dancers from the Éva Duda Company will also perform during the evening.
